Eric Diamond, also known as Diamond or ItsCoolDiamond, is a musician, producer, composer, engineer, and sound designer based in New York City, whose genre-bending sound blends elements of hip-hop, jazz, soul, psychedelic rock, and electronic music. A multi-instrumentalist known for his lush keyboard work, complex compositions, and spaced-out sonic textures, Eric has become a go-to creative force for artists and brands alike.
Eric holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the James A. Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland, and originally worked as an electrical engineer before transitioning full-time into music. His technical background informs his precise production style and deep understanding of sound design. He began his musical journey studying with esteemed jazz musicians Brian Landrus, Charlie Lagond, and Anthony "Rusty" Cloud, developing a strong foundation in jazz piano, saxophone, and music theory—elements that continue to shape his unique, immersive compositions.
Throughout his career, Eric has collaborated with a wide range of artists and institutions, including Curren$y, Snoop Dogg, Ski Beatz, Jim Jones, Wiz Khalifa, G Perico, Dear Silas, Busta Rhymes, and LE$, as well as brands like Roland Global, Canvas, and Berklee College of Music, where he has also appeared as a guest speaker.
Since 2022, Eric has been an integral part of the Sound Collective teaching team, serving as an instructor in the Intensive Program, Kenshū Artist Accelerator, and online curriculum. His hands-on, cross-disciplinary approach empowers students to think creatively and technically, making him a vital resource for aspiring producers navigating today’s evolving musical landscape.
