Biography
John Osborn is a mastering engineer, producer, and educator based in Queens, NY. A graduate of Elon University’s Music Production and Recording Arts program (Class of 2017), John built his foundation across a wide range of genres spanning pop, lo-fi hip-hop, singer-songwriter, and contemporary indie styles. Since 2020, he has worked professionally as both a record-maker and a private music tutor, helping artists shape their sonic identity while guiding emerging producers through the fundamentals of modern production.
With hands-on experience in live sound, studio recording, mixing, mastering, and post-production, John brings a holistic perspective to the music-making process. His teaching philosophy is rooted in meeting students exactly where they are, whether they’re brand-new to production or refining a nearly finished mix. He aims to demystify technical concepts, covering Logic Pro X, mixing fundamentals, mastering workflow, studio etiquette, and freelance business skills, so students gain both creative confidence and professional readiness.
