About Course

This course introduces students to the stylistic techniques that define funk and disco guitar. Through rhythm-focused playing, chord voicings, muting, syncopation, and groove layering, students will develop the ability to lock in with rhythm sections and create guitar parts that drive dance-oriented music. The class blends technical training, stylistic analysis, and performance practice, culminating in a final showcase of funk and disco rhythm guitar performance.

  • Note: This course is for students enrolled in Intensive Programs at SoundCollective. Intensive students can use this course to access their class session recording (after class has concluded) and or join remotely. For more information on In-Person or Online programs, visit Short-Term Programs
