About Course
Intro to Serato is the perfect starting point for anyone new to DJing. You’ll learn how to build and organize music libraries, mix using EQ and phrasing, and incorporate Serato’s performance features including stems, FX, and loops. By the end, you will have recorded and performed your first DJ set and developed the skills and confidence to step behind any booth.
By the end of this program, you will:
- Learn turntable and mixer setup, workspace flow, and Serato’s core interface.
- Organize crates, use tags and BPM filters, and explore record pools and streaming platforms.
- Practice blending with EQ, timing cuts, echo-outs, and energy-matched transitions.
- Record sets in Serato, refine phrasing, and plan mix structure.
- Incorporate loop rolls, reverb, echo, and sampler banks into live sets.
- Isolate and manipulate vocals, drums, melody, and bass for creative transitions.
- Prepare and deliver a 30-minute live set with cue control, phrasing, and performance effects.
