Biography
Avery Logan is a New York City–based drummer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist known for his genre-crossing versatility. Born and raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, he relocated to the Northeast in the mid-2010s and completed his undergraduate studies at the New England Conservatory. Avery has performed extensively across jazz, RnB, indie, and experimental rock, collaborating with artists such as Miguel Zenon, Bob Reynolds, Pritesh Walia, Beane, Kyana Fanene, and Don Pardo. He has led the Saturday Night Jam Session at Wally’s Jazz Club, toured nationally with the PSA Trio and Beane, and served as music director for The Boston She Party dance company. His performances have also been featured in projects like the Samora Pinderhughes Transformations Suite and Miguel Zenon Dos Alas.
At Sound Collective, Avery brings years of professional experience and a dynamic, hands-on teaching approach to drum, piano, and music production instruction. His lessons focus on technical mastery, creative expression, and adaptability across multiple genres, helping students develop both performance skills and musical intuition. Students leave his classes equipped to confidently navigate live performance, studio work, and collaborative projects.
