Costas Baltazanis is a composer, producer, guitarist, and educator with a deep foundation in jazz and world music. He studied jazz guitar performance and composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston and has contributed to over 100 records as a session player and producer. Costas has performed internationally in countries including the USA, Greece, Spain, Finland, Israel, Luxembourg, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Germany, collaborating with renowned musicians and ensembles such as Alex Foster, The Mingus Orchestra, Arturo Sandoval, David Friedman, Jeff Tain Watts, James Genus, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, and The Stuttgart Symphony Orchestra.
He is a founding member and principal composer of the world fusion band Iasis, established in 1995. The band has released multiple albums, including Iasis (1996), Amalgama (1999), the single Amalgama Mix (2000) under Lyra Records, and Duente (2003) under Emarcy, Universal Records. Iasis has sold thousands of albums and performed at major venues and festivals across Greece, Spain, Germany, and Luxembourg, blending intricate musical traditions with contemporary world fusion sounds.
