Intermediate DJ Scratching

The Intermediate DJ Scratching course is designed for intermediate DJs to master next-level scratch techniques to elevate their DJ sets and battle skills. Through hands-on lessons, students will sharpen timing, precision, and creativity with advanced patterns and combos.

By the end of this course, students will build the confidence and skillset to stand out in any performance or competition.

Topics & Goals

• Scratch Techniques and Patterns
  Learn tears, chirps, 1‑click flares, double‑ups, triple‑ups, and military scratch with clean articulation.
• Backspins and Timing Mastery
  Practice 1/2‑bar, 1‑bar, and 1‑beat backspins to tighten playback control and phrasing.
• Combo Construction and Phrasing
  Build transitions between patterns and lock in 1‑bar and 2‑bar phrases for flow.
• Trick Mixing and FX Integration
  Use filters, echoes, and reverb to design creative blends and exits.
• Looping and Routine Design
  Apply loop rolls and cue juggling to structure intros, fills, breaks, and endings.
• Microtiming and Groove
  Develop accent control, swing, and rhythmic space for polished execution.
• Artist Identity and Branding
  Shape a signature style and performance presence for battles, livestreams, and clubs.
