About Course
Hybrid Performance is a hands-on course focused on building and performing a live vocal-centered set using Ableton Live. Students learn how to combine live vocals, clip launching, MIDI controllers, pads, and real-time effects into a cohesive hybrid performance designed for the stage or live recording environments.
By the end of the course, students will design and present a complete hybrid performance that blends live vocals with pre-produced material, expressive FX control, and performance hardware, developing both technical confidence and artistic presence.
- Session View Performance Workflow
Build performance ready projects using clips, scenes, global quantization, and organized routing.
- Live Vocal Integration
Set up microphones, monitoring, and real time vocal processing for live performance.
- FX Control & Performance Mapping
Map filters, delays, reverbs, and creative FX to MIDI controllers for expressive control.
- Pads & Finger Drumming
Perform drums, samples, and one-shots using Drum Rack and pad controllers.
- Outboard Gear & Live Inputs
Integrate external synths, pedals, and instruments into Ableton based performances.
- Hybrid Set Design & Showcase
Rehearse, refine, and perform a complete hybrid live set combining vocals, clips, and hardware.
