Program Structure

Our programs are broken down into Intro, Intermediate and Proficient Sections.

Section 1 (Intro)

Section 1 introduces Logic, theory, piano, and synthesis, ending with a finished original track that demonstrates your core production fundamentals.

Section 2 (Intermediate)

Section 2 advances your workflow, mixing, and synthesis, ending with a submission-ready production that reflects your developing sound and growing technical control.

Section 3 (Proficient)

Section 3 covers advanced production in your chosen genre, mastering, ear training, and artist branding, finishing with a release-ready project.

Section 1: Intro

Intro to Synthesis

This beginner-friendly course demystifies the world of synthesizers by introducing students to the building blocks of synthesis and how to apply them musically.

Intro to Studio Engineering

Intro to Studio Engineering introduces students to the full music production workflow—from pre-production to final mix. 

Music Theory for Producers

Music Theory for Producers is a foundational 4-week course that introduces core music theory concepts with a focus on practical application for producers.

Intro to Logic Pro

The Intro to Logic Pro course is a hands-on introduction to digital music production using Logic Pro.

Piano for Producers: Intro

Piano for Producers: Intro is a hands-on course is designed for music producers and beatmakers who want to develop essential keyboard skills to improve their melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic fluency.

FINAL PROJECT: Original Track

Finish Section 1 with an original Logic Pro production — melody, chords, custom synthesis, and recorded audio all working together in a track that becomes the first piece of your growing portfolio.

Piano for Producers: Intermediate

Piano for Producers: Intermediate is a hands-on 4-week course builds on the foundation of Piano for Producers: Intro, introducing advanced harmony, rhythm, voicings, and performance concepts that are immediately applicable in a modern production workflow.

Intermediate Logic Pro

The Intermediate Logic Pro course is designed for producers who are comfortable with the basics and ready to deepen their creative and technical skillset.

Intermediate Studio Engineering

The Intermediate Studio Engineering course offers hands-on training with industry-standard tools in a professional hybrid studio environment.

Intermediate Synthesis

The Intermediate Synthesis course builds on the foundational synthesis skills gained in Intro to Synthesis, expanding into advanced methods, hardware integration, and sound design strategies.

Studio Essentials: Mixing

Studio Essentials: Mixing is a course designed for producers who want to take control of their own mixes and finish their tracks to a professional standard without relying on external engineers.

FINAL PROJECT: Original Track + Mixing Challenge

Produce a more complex original track in Logic Pro and tackle a real mixing challenge with provided stems — building the kind of production and engineering instincts that define a well-rounded portfolio.

Advanced Logic Pro: Dance Music (Elective)

Advanced Logic Pro: Dance Music course explores the essential production techniques behind professional dance music.

Advanced Logic Pro: Bass Music (Elective)

Advanced Logic Pro: Bass Music is an intensive 4-week course that gives students the tools to create hard-hitting, festival-ready bass music using Logic Pro.

Advanced Logic Pro: Hip-Hop (Elective)

Advanced Logic Pro: Hip-Hop is an advanced-level experience for producers aiming to master the craft of hip-hop production using Logic Pro.

Music Business Essentials

This course provides a practical introduction to the modern music business for independent artists.

Studio Essentials: Ear Training

Studio Essentials: Ear training is a course that develops advanced aural perception and analytical skills essential for professional studio work.

Studio Essentials: Mastering

Studio Essentials: Mastering is a 4-week course that introduces students to the art and science of audio mastering in a real-world production context.

FINAL PROJECT: 3-Song EP

Cap the program with a fully mixed and mastered 3-song EP produced in Logic Pro — project files, stemmed mixdowns, and a finished master that’s release-ready and built to anchor your professional portfolio.

What is Sound Collective?

Sound Collective is a NYC-based music education and creative community hub for producers, DJs, musicians, and engineers. We combine hands-on classes, private mentorship, professional studios, and a collaborative community under one roof, with flexible online learning for artists around the world.

Sound Collective offers several ways to learn and access the space:

The Full Program is Sound Collective’s most immersive educational offering. It’s structured in three levels, Intro, Intermediate, and Proficient, and combines courses, private lessons, membership access, and career development support.

Full Program students receive:

  • 12 hours of private lessons per section (36 hours total)
  • Access to all courses within their section
  • Full facility membership during each section

Yes. Courses can be taken individually or as part of the Full Program.

Individual course students receive:

  • Weekly in-person classes
  • Access to facilities on class days
  • Four all-access day passes per course
  • Course materials and project files via the student dashboard

Some offerings are exclusively in person, while others are available online or hybrid.

Membership provides ongoing access to Sound Collective’s studios, DJ rooms, practice spaces, and shared areas during staffed hours.

Membership does not include classes or private lessons.

Day and Week Passes provide short-term access to Sound Collective facilities during staffed hours. They’re ideal for artists who need temporary studio or practice space.

Passholders receive:

  • Full access to production rooms, DJ setups, and practice areas
  • Flexible short-term booking options

Passes are non-refundable and non-transferable once activated.

All bookings must be made through:

  • The Sound Collective booking portal, or
  • The front desk or admissions team

Members may book up to 30 days in advance.
Other passes may book up to two weeks in advance.

Each user is limited to one booking per day, up to three hours, to ensure fair access.

  • Sessions starting more than 20 minutes late may be forfeited
  • Repeated no-shows or tardiness may result in a $40 fee
  • Booking privileges may be restricted for continued violations

Yes, with limitations.

  • All guests must check in at the front desk
  • Guests must hold a valid guest pass
  • Members are fully responsible for their guests’ behavior

Children are not permitted unless explicitly enrolled or approved.

All rooms are equipped with industry-standard gear, including:

  • Production workstations
  • DJ setups (CDJs, vinyl, controllers)
  • Instruments, synths, and drum machines
  • Professional studio monitoring

Special equipment must be requested at the time of booking. Users may request up to two external items per session, subject to availability.

  • No food or drinks in studios, classrooms, or performance spaces

Food and drinks are allowed only in shared lounge areas

All purchases are final unless canceled by Sound Collective.

  • Courses & classes: No refunds or make-ups for missed sessions (all courses are recorded and can be watched live via Zoom or after the fact via the learning platform)
  • Private lessons: Must cancel 24 hours in advance
  • Workshops & events: Non-refundable once purchased
  • Memberships: Require 30 days written notice to cancel
  • Passes: Non-refundable once activated

Credits may be issued only if Sound Collective cancels a service.

Grading applies only to Full Program students and select graded courses.
A full grading policy is available in the student handbook.

  • All tuition, memberships, and lessons must be paid before access begins
  • Payment plans may be available for select Full Program students
  • Late or declined payments may result in fees or suspended access
