Intermediate CDJs & Rekordbox

The Intermediate CDJs & Rekordbox course builds on foundational DJ skills with a deeper focus on performance strategy, advanced phrasing, and live remixing techniques. Students explore the critical roles DJs play in various set positions and enhance their creative control through looping, cue jumping, FX layering, and acapella blending. By the end of the course, students perform a polished mini-set and walk away with enhanced technical skills and stage readiness.

Topics & Goals

• Set Planning & Role Awareness
  Learn how to prepare sets for opening, support, and headline slots.
• Phrasing & Cue Strategies
  Apply bar structures, loops, and hot cues for dynamic mixing.
• Creative Looping & Cue Jumps
  Use live looping, phrase jumps, and multi-deck layering for live remixing.
• FX Mastery
  Layer and time FX to create tension, release, and atmosphere.
• Acapella Blending
  Combine vocals with instrumentals for mashups and live blends.
• Live Performance
  Build and perform a 15-minute set that applies advanced DJ techniques.
