Intro to CDJs & Rekordbox

The Intro to CDJs & Rekordbox course is a hands-on introduction to the world of DJing using industry-standard Pioneer CDJs and Rekordbox. This course is designed to help students build the foundational skills necessary to perform confidently in live settings. From curating and prepping music to mixing and performing, students will develop essential techniques and gain experience that can launch their journey as performing DJs. 

Topics & Goals

• Rekordbox Basics
  Learn to organize, tag, analyze, and export tracks for performance.
• CDJ and Mixer Operation
  Explore hardware layout, browsing, cueing, looping, and mixer signal flow.
• Beatmatching and Transitions
  Develop timing, EQ control, and creative FX use for seamless mixing.
• Creative Mixing Techniques
  Apply loops, filters, and energy management for dynamic sets.
• DJ Branding and Business
  Build a personal identity, network with venues, and understand gig logistics.
• Recording a DJ Mix
  Capture, edit, and export a professional 30-minute set.
